We first met them at their close friends’ wedding, Courtney and Toby, as Caroline

was in the wedding party.

We can’t wait to see the elegant and FUN affair that they are pulling together for this fall

but recently on a trip to Raleigh, I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement

session.  We wanted the session to be classic without being too formal or serious.

Caroline looks adorable in her Lily Pulizter frock and Gray works that power suit!

Unexpected but so classy!

In addition to being photogenic, Caroline and Gray are hilarious!  Smart and funny, always a deadly

combo in my book, and so very caring to one another.

They are a perfect balance whose chemistry is so very real.

Cheers kids!  Can’t wait for September!

Her elegant Nicole Miller dress was gorgeous, purchased from J Majors Bridal Boutique
as well as the stunning custom belt.

I would never go back to being a teenager, no way, but being around teens is
inspiring and I love to observe them finding their path and taking flight.

Congrats Carleigh!   Only a few more weeks!

Everyone who knows me knows that I have “baby fever”. I love looking at babies, holding babies, smelling
babies, observing their every motion and discovery. I am blessed to have two babies of my own, both quite far from this featured stage on the blog, but I cherished every minute that my children were this little.

Little Maddie was just over a week old, so sweet, sleepy and easy on her parents. I pray that all of Maddie’s childhood is sweet and easy. You may also remember her gorgeous parents from their maternity
session featured last month on our blog.

And how cool is it that your Dad can paint a mural like this in your room?

Game of Thrones is not only visually beautiful, but intelligent, exciting, captivating
and fun. Medieval drama is not usually paired with words like fun but many artists
have taken a look into this dark period of history, added total fantasy to it, as in the
fictional Game of Thrones, and allow the reader or viewer to be transported through time.

When chatting about our mutual affection for the show, celebrated Makeup Artist Kymm McLean of
Who’s The Fairest and I made haste to design a bridal look that would jump from the screen of the
hit series into a real possible wedding theme for a modern couple. The most important element of
design would be the magnificent hair, wild and free with touches of refinement.
The makeup would be kept soft, dewy and touchable.

Pulling gowns and accessories from J Majors Bridal Boutique, custom jewelry from Kristin Morris,
and a vintage replica lace jacket, we had everything in place for our gorgeous model Lauren York. For this look we chose the gorgeous
frock from Claire Pettibone, my favorite!
Lily Greenthumbs Floral Artistry provided perfection for blooms and Katrina Hutchins
of come+together events pulled it all together.

A daydream that rattles around the brain, turns into a conversation, transforms into
a collaboration and ultimately a work of art.

It might seem too serious to speak this way of a wedding inspiration session, but
if so, then you have never met us. Artists, raw and vulnerable, real and inspired,
ready to throw our emotions on the canvas, that is who we are and we feel half
complete if we are not this truly, night and day.

It was a complete pleasure to work with this talented team of wedding vendors,
