We were so thrilled when our gallery neighbor, Amy Craparo of The Wow Factor Cakes, booked a portrait session for her children. Amy’s family has been settling into the Queen City for just over a year now and as time has been flying and her business has been growing, she really wanted to take a moment to document this stage of Carly and Ethan’s life.
Carly and Ethan aren’t babies anymore. Soon there will be graduations and college and a whole new life for The Craparos…FREEDOM! Just kidding. If you are a parent or currently a teenager, you got the joke. But while everyone thinks of capturing precious photographs of newborns and chubby little toddlers discovering the planet, we get fewer requests for capturing the tween and teen years. Though they may be a mix of tumultuous emotions and hormones, they still represent a turning point in a family as you all forge on to a bigger future.
Carly and Ethan are both beautiful, fun and funny but if we painted a photo of constant serenity than Amy and her hubby Chris would have thought the images way too canned. Having fun at a shoot is so important to us but while cutting up and having a good time, we never forget we’re there to make images that will speak well beyond a lifetime.
