Drea and Casey love...

our family more than the air we breathe, our teeny weeny pup, romantic comedies, especially Casey, silliness, sexiness, glamour, elegance, really beat up architechture that is still standing, celebrating, music in almost every form, kissing, dancing, sing alongs, hanging out with clients who have become friends, eating homegrown food, internet finds, and laughing our butts off.

Emily’s Bridal Portraits: Love affair with The Dunhill Hotel

Just a few months ago, we met with our dear bride Emily at The Dunhill Hotel in Charlotte.  We had chosen The Dunhill as the perfect spot for Emily’s bridal portaits as she and her new husband John love the look and the feel of the more historic parts of Uptown.  The Dunhill Hotel has a HUGELY sentimental place in our hearts as Casey and I both used to work there, and have an Uncle who was the former GM.  Just some highlights of when I worked at the Dunhill, back in the 90′s y’all…to show my age:

I checked in Doctor Julius Irving of 76′ers fame and one of my childhood heroes, Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders stayed in the Penthouse as did Sheryl Crow (on different occasions), and Casey asked me one night after work as we were walking to the parking lot if I wouldn’t mind marrying him that coming April.  Those people that know us well know that Casey technically asked me to marry him three times to which I always answered yes!  This was the second of the three, the last being a formal romantic scavenger hunt that ended on the steps of The Great Aunt Stella Center…which is where we married in 2000.

The Dunhill became the site of our rehearsal dinner, our wedding night and our post wedding brunch.  Needless to say, we love The Dunhill Hotel!

The Penthouse at The Dunhill Hotel

Besides the personal connection, the architecture is beautiful, the recently remodeled rooms are stunning and cozy and the service is excellent.  And it is actually old, seriously a piece of actual history from 1929.  For Charlotte, that is unique as most of our historic buildings have made way for more modern pieces of art.  Kandace Stafford took great care of us and Emily to make sure that her bridal portrait was a fun and luxurious experience.  Emily felt like she had gone to a spa.

Emily’s seriously gorgeous gown was purchased at Hayden Olivia Bridal in Charlotte, North Carolina only blocks away from the Dunhill.  Her dress was designed by Ines di Santo and her veil, shoes and accessories also came from Hayden Olivia

Ok, enough of my jibber jabber, on to the images.

Oh, I just adore a penthouse view!

We adored working with Emily and with her new hubby John!  Stay tuned this week for all the details on their fun Pinehurst, North Carolina wedding!

July 23, 2010 - 8:51 pm thecunn1 - How awesome! We were the first or second wedding there in 2000. It used to be a theatre and I performed there so it was very sentimental to us. PS: Sorry for the delay! My comment box decided to crazy for a month. Thanks Cheyenne.

June 14, 2010 - 6:34 pm Cheyenne Schultz - Didn't know you guys were married at the Stella Center! That's where Geoff and I were married. :) These images are stunning - the first is my favorite.
