Emily and Matt are getting married today!

 Good morning!  When our schedule permits, we love to give a little shout out to our couples on the morning of their wedding.  Right now there are hot rollers and hair spray flying around some adorable salon and giggles and mimosas I’m sure.  I’m also sure that the men are gathered having a few beers, watching sports …playing sports or talking about sports.  On the morning of the wedding, when everyone is buzzing around like bees and checking off to do lists, it’s nice to remember a little piece of calm and beauty in anticipation of the happiness to come.

Just a few weeks ago we photographed Emily and Matt’s engagement session on Lake Norman, shoving off from Matt’s father’s house.  The weather was gorgeous, just like today, the water was calm and we set out to have a little adventure.  We know that Emily and Matt chose the Lake because it is a central connection for them and both their families.  It is where they spend their most fond moments and what they look forward to at the end of a work week.

Melissa Lamkin, fashion stylist and PR star, did some pre-session styling to pull the elements together.  We love working with Melissa not only because her sense of fashion and style is effortless and classic, but also because she enhances our clients without changing them.  She puruses their own wardrobe’s first to get a sense of their style and moves forward with how to play it up through the lens of a professional.    We put our heads together for a day that would capture the beauty of who they are and where they play.  Enjoy the images.
